self-enforcing consequences of drug abuse

the effects of a particular drug are so bad that they need to be made illegal and shouldn't the negative side-effects be enough of a deterrent enough of a punishment to anyone who uses them that we don't also have to begin involving everyone else in the community police politicians lawyers to stop the use of this drug shouldn't the punishment and inflicts on the person who use it be enough apparently not I don't understand why because there's so much fighting within particular communities over the possession of that drug whatever it is that it creates more problems than that the drug itself than the side effects himself so I don't know what exactly the war on drugs is trying to accomplish it hasn't been successful in any way whatsoever you would think that the case of marijuana if it's so bad that we're going to throw people in prison for it then why would they then continue to use it after getting out after dealing with whatever punishment that our courts or law system dishes out afterwards apparently not we don't think about it this way
